Tips: How to help the poor | Cover-More Travel Insurance

Dan: Hey guys, so sadly I wasn’t able to
help out at Mother Theresa’s house, which I thought may be the case. They had some pretty
strict curfew times and there’s actually no filming that can actually be done within the
volunteer program, but what Mother Theresa has set up over here is just mind-blowing.
Um, the amount of people that they actually touch over here and the amount of tourists
that come over and help out in the program is, um, is mind-blowing, but, you don’t
actually just have to turn up at Mother Theresa’s house to help out over here. There’s so
much poverty going on around here that, I find on my travels nowadays, I’ve kinda stopped handing
out money to beggars on the street. I actually go around the corner and I’ll go, go buy
a meal and a drink and I’ll hand it to them personally because I find out that you can
actually sit down and have a chat with them and find out a little bit about themselves
and their story or atleast hand it to them and know you’re actually doing some kind
of good. Everyone needs food and a lot of the people around here are pretty malnourished
on the streets, so, I encourage you guys, if you’re travelling and you see poverty,
give it a go. Help them out, um, buy a drink, buy a meal. Hand it to them, sit down and
have a chat and, um, it will change your trip. It will change the dynamic of your travelling
completely. Alright, well, I’m gonna keep on wandering, make my way, and find a meal
myself. So, I’ll speak to you guys soon. Ciao. [Music Playing]
